about

This is a demo that we recorded at Zyla's on Sunday July 9th, 2017; our debut release. It features 5 songs that showcase our musical interests and diversity.

This formation of the band has been playing together since May 12th, 2017. We did all of the instrumentals in 1 take over the span of a couple of hours. The vocals for the album were overdubbed on a later date.

We had a wonderful year performing at various festivals, fundraisers and events. We made some new friends and collaborated with other local artists like Mother Tareka and Kojo "Easy" Damptey.

Thanks to everyone that has and continues to support Easy Lemon. We have big plans for 2018. This is only the beginning.

Track Name: Know
How about you tell me a story
Tell me all about your plans for glory
I have so much to tell you
There is nothing to say
Nothing that interesting anyway

I don't have to tell you twice
I know very well you won't take my advice
I don't have to tell you twice
I know very well, a day is followed by a night

How about you tell me another of your serious jokes
Tell me all about how I've been asleep since I awoke
And wandering through fields of righteousness
Where nothing makes me move quite like your empty kiss

I don't have to tell you twice
I know very well you won't take my advice
I don't have to tell you twice
I know very well, a day is followed by a night
Track Name: Long Time
Well, fast money damn
How do you get away so fast
I wish I could make you last
You know I waste my time
Forget to keep the things I find
I keep my pride lose my mind
Then I sit and wonder why

It's been a long time
But I know that's not true
I wish I could feel good for you
Waiting all day
Waiting all night
For you to treat me right

Well, fast money damn
How do you get away so fast
Wish I could make you last
I waste my time
I couldn't keep it in place
I took your hint then a hit then I fell flat on my face
I woke up a few hours too late
I could not get my story straight
I did not, want to stand or wait
Or eat what the man left on my plate

Well look
It's been a long time
How I wish that were true
Wish I could feel good for you
Waiting all day and all night
For you to treat me right

-Solos-

Well why do you get away so fast
I wanna make you last
You waste my time
Forget to keep the things that you find
You keep your pride you lose your mind

You make me wonder why
It’s been a long time
You know that’s not true
I don’t feel bad for you
Waiting all day
But I’ve been waiting all night
For you to treat me right

How about you treat me right
How about you treat me right
How about
How about you treat me right
How about
How about you treat me right
Track Name: Don't Look At Me
Dead blues, deadly blue by my hands
and I still act surprised when it happens
How it happens
How I wish I could see
Why, you don't look at me, anymore

Empty arms, empty room by my hands
and I still act surprised when it happens
How it happens
How I wish I could see
Why, you don't look at me, anymore

You don't look at me
You don't look at me
You don't look at me anymore
You don't look at me
You don't look at me
But you don't know, what you're looking for
Well maybe, I don't want to look at you, anymore

Empty arms, empty room by my hands
and I still act surprised when it happens
How it happens
How I wish I could see
Why, you don't look at me, anymore

I’ve got empty arms, empty room by my hands
Empty arms, empty room by my hands
and I still act surprised
I act surprised when it happens
How it happens
Why, don't you want to look at me, anymore

-Solo-

You don't look at me
You don't look at me
Don't look at me anymore
You don't look at me
You don't look at me
You don't know, what you're looking for
Maybe, I don't want to look at you, anymore

You don't look at me
You don't look at me
You don't look at me anymore
You don't look at me
You don't look at me
But you don't know, what you're looking for
Maybe, I don't want to look at you
Maybe, I don’t want to look at you
Maybe, I don’t want to look at you, anymore
Track Name: The Bong Song
Illiterate - I’m getting sick of reading
Not getting what I want to the point that I'm needing
Getting cold at night but I can't get heating
I'm probably just cold from my heart retreating,
It never worked quite right though it's taken quite a beating
My mind's fed up says "I'm packing up and leaving"
That's fine with me he's kind of misleading
This air in my head makes it hard breathing,
Words, a bit, too hard to handle
Fall from my lips like wax from a candle
Swing off of bars like streamers on handles and
Stick to my feet like rocks in my sandals

Stone walker, hard rocker
Smooth talker - take a hit!
You say this and that
You're saying this and that but
You don't mean it

Stone walker, hard rocker
Smooth talker - take a hit!
You say this and that
You're saying this and that but
You don't mean it

So many pieces to choose from
To use from, to lose some
What I make out to be is more than what I grew from
What I come from, what I knew from
What I love from, what I drew from
What I shove from, what I flew from
Truth is, I'm just a six-day liar
When the week ends I preach like a choir
Four parts to my method-ist I insist
It's a battles for this spirit these troops must enlist!
Trust this, keep high, counterpoint with the bass
Middle voice in a line, keep the beat in place
Watch his face, see my hands moving in space
Peace be with you and may we all fall with grace
I hear they used to stone the wicked
I've seen the wicked get stoned
How about you back up
It's about time you were overthrown
I don't know where I'm going
But I'm going to sing about
How music wants to love us
He just can't afford a ring

Stone walker, hard rocker
Smooth talker - take a hit!
You say this and that
You're saying this and that but
You don't mean it

Stone walker, hard rocker
Smooth talker - take a hit!
You say this and that
You're saying this and that but
You don't mean it

My book says withdrawn but it might just be me
If you are what you eat would you eat what you read?
I think my expression needs more inflection
Second thought I think I need more discretion
To see how you think let me think how you see
Like if I am what I smoke does that make me a tree?
Stuck in my ways waving wind through my leaves
If I kicked off my roots what I crash like the seas or
Damn up my truth cause I'm so damn proud
If I am how I breathe does that make me a cloud?
Shifting, drifting colours in waves
A bruise in my belly
You in my shade

Stone walker, hard rocker
Smooth talker - take a hit!
You say this and that
You're saying this and that but
You don't mean it

Stone walker, hard rocker
Smooth talker - take a hit!
You say this and that
You're saying this and that but
You don't mean it

Stone walker, hard rocker
Smooth talker - take a hit!
You say this and that
You're saying this and that but
You don't mean it

Stone walker, hard rocker
Smooth talker - take a hit!
You say this and that
You're saying this and that but
You don't mean it

You don’t mean it
You don’t mean it
You don’t mean it
You don’t mean it
You don’t mean it
